Road Safety Cones In Johannesburg Made By Armco RSPThousands upon thousands of road safety cones in Johannesburg and elsewhere in Gauteng are used by road building authorities to mark obstructions for motorists and pedestrians. Road safety cones in Johannesburg have become part of the scenery since almost the whole city has been transformed into a construction site in preparation for the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup. Streets and highways are being upgraded and the Gautrain project is progressing at a fast pace. Armco RSP has been supplying many of the road products used by the building contractors. Heavy-based Melba cones are very stable in strong winds. The size of their bases is calculated as a function of their frontal areas, to ensure that they offer similar levels of stability in windy areas and not blow over easily. This makes them suitable for coastal use. The soft cones are cheaper and moulded in one piece, but their design conforms to similar requirements. Many different sizes are available. The Melba cones are made in sizes varying from 450mm high (weight: 1.5kg) to 750mm high (weight: 4.8kg). The soft cones come in even more sizes and cover the size range from 300mm high (0.6kg) to 920mm high (5kg). All cones are coated in UV-resistant paint that will not flake. Different colours are available, but for the most part, bright orange is the preferable colour; the police use yellow cones. Cones warn motorists and pedestrians of obstacles, diversions and hazards. They may delineate temporary lanes, cordon off road excavations or warn of a school patrol where children cross the road. They even serve such mundane purposes as reserving parking spaces. Most of the road safety cones in Johannesburg are made by Armco RSP. Contact us today.
