Armco RSP’s road products contribute to road safety

Armco RSP strives to improve road safety in South Africa through our innovative road safety products.  One can never do enough to lower the accident rate.  Over 15 000 people die on our roads each year and that is a terrible price to pay in terms of human lives; we have to do everything we can to improve these statistics.

Our accident statistics are among the worst in the world; in fact, we rank right up their with countries such as Malaysia and Thailand for fatalities per capita.  South Africans make a mind-boggling 800 000 accidents per year of which almost 12 000 are fatal.  It costs our economy almost R50 billion per year; on the toll of human lives, we can put no price.  This is why Armco RSP is adamant to reduce these figures by supplying road safety products of the highest standard.  We also endeavour, in collaboration with the road building authorities, to build “forgiving” roads, which do not exact a fatal penalty for mistakes made.

We manufacture ISO 9002-compliant road products like guardrail barriers, temporary barriers, road reflectors and delineators in our manufacturing plant.  Our road cones are used to warn of obstructions, our blade delineators are used to channel traffic at road works sites and our tough, thermoplastic speed ramps calm traffic.  StackMan temporary barriers are used to channel traffic and safeguard road workers.  These bright yellow interlocking plastic barriers are easily installed and then filled with water to offer superior impact absorption properties.
