Road accident prevention should enjoy more attention than it is currently getting in South Africa.  We have over 12 000 fatal accidents per year in which 15 000 people lose their lives.  That is an impossibly high price to pay in terms of human lives.  Armco RSP is actively involved in road accident prevention through the state-of-the-art road products we supply.

Safe roads are dependent on excellent signage.  In our SABS ISO 1461 Hot Dip Galvanised manufacturing plant, we manufacture road products to the strict ISO 9002 standard.  One simply does not get any better than that.  Our well-known guardrail barriers are designed to yield on impact and direct a vehicle safely back onto the road.  However, they are also fitted with reflectors so that motorist can see them clearly, especially at night, and avoid contact in the first place.

A host of different barrier types are used to channel traffic and safeguard road workers’ lives.  Our bright yellow interlocking plastic temporary StackMan barriers are light and extremely strong.  They are easy to assemble and then they are filled with water to provide superior impact absorption properties.  Our Triton and BarrierGuard systems are also widely used.  Other road safety products include our versatile Melba and soft cones, which are highly visible and inexpensive.  They are coloured with a paint that resists fading and flaking and their design ensures that they stay upright even in high winds.
