The ABC Terminal, being a crash worthy steel post and energy absorbing terminal, was designed with keeping the road user safe on the highway. It has been successfully tested to 110km/h using the CEN criteria as laid out in the ENW1317-4. The length of a 110 km/h system is 12.36m and the post spacing is 1.333m. Armco RSP ensures that every terminal is designed and manufactured to perfection, every time.

While being locally produced and manufactured the product satisfies European (CEN) test criteria. With performance of up to 80 km/h, 100 km/h and 110 km/h, it has breakaway steel post technology. One complete unit weighs approximately 600 kg’s and can fit onto a standard pallet for transportation on a small works vehicle – ensuring complete ease of transportation. With a typical installation of two hours for a standard safety barrier, using a 3 man crew and standard safety barrier installation equipment, the process is completely simplified and sped up. Energy absorption is achieved through friction and deformation as the rail sections slide rearwards on impact.
